Join a dynamic organization and contribute to ensuring that Canada's federal and territorial governments are answerable and productive. The Office of the Auditor General of Canada has been selected by Maclean’s magazine as one of Canada's Top 100 Employers for the last four years in a row.
The Office of the Auditor General of Canada is seeking audit project leaders to work in our Information Technology (IT) Audit team in supporting our financial audits of Crown Corporations and government Departments.
As a financial audit project leader in our IT Audit team, you will promote improving controls in these Crown Corporations and Departments. You will work with financial audit teams to attest to the fairness of the financial information that will be prepared at the departmental level, the consolidated Public Accounts of Canada, and in the annual financial statements of Crown Corporations.
We are looking for individuals with a proven track record in auditing and experience in the evaluation of financial controls. You have demonstrated knowledge of audit principles, standards, practices and techniques, new auditing methods, financial management and computer applications.
You will need superior leadership and communication skills to gain respect and influence, to discuss audit findings with senior managers, to write reports, and to establish relationships with client organizations. You will also need to work in a team environment to influence, provide guidance, and advise other professionals. Mentoring and coaching is important to assist others in learning and applying IT and financial audit methodologies and tools.
We offer you a professional, exciting and varied work environment. We will provide financial and IT audit training based on your specific needs through internal or external courses, seminars and conferences.
We offer a competitive compensation package that includes flexible work arrangements, continuous professional development and a generous package of employee benefits (health/dental care and pension plan). We offer relocation assistance if required.
As an employer who values diversity in its workforce, we encourage candidates in the designated groups -- women, visible minorities, Aboriginal persons and persons with disabilities -- to apply and self-identify on their application.
We are committed to developing inclusive, barrier-free selection processes and work environments. If contacted regarding this competition, please advise us of the accommodation measures which must be taken to enable you to be assessed in a fair and equitable manner.
Minimal travel could be required to respond to client circumstances and needs.
Preference will be given to Canadian citizens.
