This role is within the Information Technology Group in a team dedicated to meeting the technology needs of the Banking and Financial Services Group. The Banking and Financial Services Group is a market leader in retail financial services in Australia excelling in the provision of holistic wealth management, portfolio management and stock broking services. This group is actively pursuing opportunities to extend this success to key markets in North America, Asia, and Europe.

We are seeking an experienced Systems Operations Analyst who is excited by this challenge to:
Be part of an IT Operations team responsible for all aspects of maintaining the availability, integrity and operability of the production environment
Employ a flexible, process-driven, methodical and measured approach to working with technologies ranging through AS/400, Linux, Solaris, AIX, HP/UX, and Windows. Familiarity with most, confident in some.
Diagnose and troubleshoot as part of incident and problem management
Work with our Architecture, Development, Testing and Program Management teams as part of our SDLC and governance frameworks
Ensure effective communication and cooperation with customers, vendors and other IT teams within the bank
Create and use scripting and SQL and stored procedures for support purposes (MSSQL, Sybase, Oracle, MySQL, Korn/Bash, Perl)
Review and improve operational processes, procedures, and documentation
Implement, configure and support Java, JBoss, and Weblogic application environments with BMC Control-M batch scheduled jobs
Contribute to design, implementation and planning sessions
Execute change and configuration management in coordination with our Service Operations and Service Transition teams.
Actively identify and manage risks in conjunction with our Risk Managers and risk management framework

Have experience in complex software development environments or enterprise-class IT production operations environments
Have experience with Windows, Unix (Solaris), and Linux operating systems
Have experience with relational database management systems (Oracle, Sybase, MS SQL Server or MySQL)
Have the ability to produce support scripts using tools like Shell, Perl or Visual Basic
Have practical experience with Windows, Unix (Solaris), and Linux operating systems
Be suited to challenges associated with problem solving within a complex environment
Be qualified in systems analysis/administration or a related study, or have equivalent experience
Preferred experience and skills:
Exposure to banking or financial institutions would be an advantage, other regulated environments (health care, avionics, etc.) would be considered.
3-5 years experience in an IT Service Operations, Service Transition, Systems Administration or similar role.
Unix or Linux Experience
Experience with mission critical production systems
Practical experience with Performance Monitoring and benchmarking suites would be advantageous
