Position Summary:
The Business Intelligence Team Lead, Global Services is responsible for managing all project and design activities he/she is assigned on behalf of the Global Services BI Team, supervising and developing more junior staff and developing and managing ongoing business relationships with other BI and affiliate functional partners. Affiliate partners include Pharma (Janssen), Consumer and J&J Medical Companies.
Key functions:
Practices effective project management including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, training and documentation
Assumes the key lead role for BI Team tasks on all BI projects
Serves as the primary IT/Business partner for BI Team related functions
Provides technical support to all supported systems
Translates business requirements into system solutions
Collaborates with affiliate power users to develop program and report specifications
Gathers data, researches and analyzes specific business problems with end users
Ensures consistent application of and compliance with Global Services/J&J change management practices
Troubleshoots any functional and technical system problems
Investigates future software releases and opportunities, assessing the impact on affiliate companies.
Liaises and partners effectively with Global Services teams, Partners, and outside vendors supporting Cognos and SAP BW technical requirements (Basis, ABAP, security/profiles, Cognos consultants, vendor help desk, etc.).
Defines continuous improvement opportunities for Global Services BI.
Develops technical specifications, documentation, and processes in accordance with J&J systems SDLC.
Works with the Manager, Business Intelligence to create and manage activities for more junior staff
Develops recommendations for work streams to make the BI team more efficient.
Manages workloads of external consultants.
Travel required to other Canadian J&J operating companies and to the U.S. occasionally.

Qualifications

Qualifications:
Bachelor degree or above in Computer Science, Science or Business Degree required
A minimum of 5 years hands on experience in a BI environment utilizing Cognos Business Intelligence and SAP BW required
Excellent skills in ETL technologies (SQL scripting and one of Cognos Data Manager or Informatica ETL) required
A minimum of 3 years experience in Database Design, Architecture and Data Modeling required
Active participation in at least two Cognos or SAP BW implementations or upgrade projects required
Good troubleshooting and decision making skills required
Strong leadership and project management skills to lead and direct a technical team required
Ability to translate business requirements into system solutions required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and facilitation skills required
PMP designation an asset
Healthcare or CPG industry experiences an asset
