Delivering Business Intelligence (BI) to the end user, you will plan, design, develop and manage reporting database systems related to iPHIS (integrated Public Health Information System). Collaborating with Database Administrators, Systems Analysts, Surveillance Analysts and Biostatisticians, you will identify, analyze and rationalize internal and external data sources as well as ETL strategies.  BI users will look to you for training on using BI tools for data reports and data retrieval. As well, you will assist the Business Analysts and Application Analyst in developing and maintaining a current mapping between the data dictionary and the database structure/map.  Supporting the needs of various customers, you will design and sustain a coherent Integrated Data model and data mart, and conduct analysis related to data conversion routines and system interfaces.  As the liaison with BI vendors, you will resolve issues and participate in contract negotiations, as well as develop documentation.

Demonstrating a broad range of information technology experience and BI knowledge, you have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 5 years of BI/data modeling experience. Your experience includes working directly with end users (clinicians, managers, senior executives) to produce data models and reports that produce real business results. As well, you have proven hands-on experience with standard data warehousing/data mart and BI tools, Microsoft SQL Servers, including queries, stored procedures, and when to use triggers/views, and SQL, Oracle, XML, HTML, DHTML, client/server and web development. Knowledge of OLAP architecture and multidimensional database design techniques is required. Able to communicate complex ideas in simple terms, you can clearly relate technical information and principals of operation and recommend innovative solutions to a variety of audiences.
