Experience/
Education/
Aptitude
  • Completion of a two year Computer Systems Technology Diploma or a four year Computer Science Degree. ¬†Additional certification and education would be an asset.
  • 10 years in the IT industry which includes:
    • Over 5 years of experience in systems architecture, design, development, and deployment of web-based solutions in an enterprise environment. Solutions should comprise of web parts, workflows, event handling, forms, and other web technologies.
    • Over 5 years experience with web information and business analysis, requirements gathering, quality assurance, process & data modeling, and information management.
    • Over 5 years experience of object oriented programming using the .NET Framework (C#, VB.NET) in a source/version controlled environment.
    • Over 5 years experience working with relational database as either a database administrator or developer.
  • Experience with building wireframes, prototypes, and concept models for web based systems.
  • Experience with graphics design software such as MS Visio and Adobe Creative Suite Design.
  • Experience deploying and maintaining an enterprise content management system (such as MS-Sharepoint).
  • Able to independently manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills required.
  • Above average analytical and problem solving skills in a production environment.
  • Aptitude to learning new information systems and technology skills.
  • Experience with project management best practices as well as ITIL certification would be an asset.
  • Experience in the selection of solutions and preparing accurate web architecture documentation.¬†
Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development of the information systems vision and strategic roadmap based on experience and knowledge, as is pertains to Web technologies. This includes determining the development environment, standards, processes, and the quality controls for Web development.
  • Design, document and regularly review the Web architectures, this includes quality assurance, and data integrity reviews.
  • Provide mentorship and leadership in the areas of version control, change management, quality control, and other web development best practices to the Web team.
  • Research and recommend Web system solutions that support the Business requirements as well as provide a deployment plan and lead the project team in the implementation.
  • Facilitate communication channels with the various client partners and owners of the web based systems.
  • Ensure the security of the environment and the protection against external threats and drafting guidelines for the web team.
  • Defines configuration and structure of enterprise relational databases used by web applications.
  • Establish monitoring and KPI requirements for the production environment in order to enhance web application usability, performance, and robustness, as well as backend process improvements.
  • Produce accurate and effective documentation for system/application configuration, project deliverables and business requirements.
  • Produce technical documentation including design specifications, maintenance, operational and end-user guides.
  • Act as the back up to the Manager of Web Development.
